2.8.6 fixes two security problems that can be exploited by registered, logged in users who have posting privileges. If you have untrusted authors on your blog, upgrading to 2.8.6 is recommended.

WPThemeAffiliate Wordpress Theme Preview
Over the past few weeks I have been working on a new Wordpress theme titled WPThemeAffiliate. Premium Themes for all types of CMS systems like Wordpress, Drupal, Joomla, Expression Engine, Magneto have become really popular over the past few years. This rise in premium theme developent has created a market for website owners to recommend theme developers and profit from the affiliate schemes offered by them.
Installing WordPress locally with WampServer
Shane Arthur walks you through creating a local installation of WordPress, which you can use for testing or development. In this tutorial, Shane uses the Windows-based WampServer. Using WAMP for your site development keeps your live site safe in case or more likley when you do make a mistake when coding or theming, it’s also a great way to learn more about and play with wordpress in a safe working environment.
Bug Fix: Textured Blog Theme v1.0.1
Over the weekend we noticed a little error in the Textured Blog Theme CSS where the sidebar was siting 5px lower than the first content item on the theme. We have released an updated version of Textured so if you have version 1.0.0 please download and update to the latest version v1.0.1. You can download the update from the Textured Theme Page. We have also updated our demo with the new version.
Textured Free Wordpress Blog Theme
We have released the Textured Blog theme as promised and you can now download the theme for free from it’s release post here. For install and usage instructions read the readme.txt that comes with the download. We hope you all enjoy the theme.
Texture Blog Theme Teaser
The first theme we will be releasing here at SoulThemes is titled Textured and is a simple but elegant wordpress blog theme, it’s also a free theme which we thought would be a great theme to launch with. As textured is a free theme it does not include any of the original design PSD files and will have limited support.
SoulThemes Beta Launches
Hi and welcome to SoulThemes. We though it would kick things off with a small post to welcome any visitors and that may have found us through various channels. SoulThemes is a template and design site dedicated to wordpress and maybe occasionally some Drupal themes. We started SoulThemes as a distribution outlet for our themes as after deliberation and thought we didn’t fancy the terms of existing theme marketplaces available on the web. By setting up SoulThemes we have complete control of our theme updates along with support to our users something which wouldn’t have been possible otherwise.
