The first theme we will be releasing here at SoulThemes is titled Textured and is a simple but elegant wordpress blog theme, it’s also a free theme which we thought would be a great theme to launch with. As Textured is a free theme it does not include any of the original design PSD files and will have limited support.
Textured does not have the all too common Theme Options page and multiple colour schemes selection that a lot of wordpress themes provide nowadays. The reason being we wanted to keep Textured’s codebase as lite as possible which in turn will place less strain on your webserver as less php calls within the theme equals less load.
Textured does use one plugin the fantastic “Simple Post Thumbnails Plugin” by James Lao for Press75.com.
Textured will be released today or tomorrow after some more testing and finishing off.
